Anthony Daleo

Obituary of Anthony Daleo

It is with great sadness that the family of Anthony Daleo announces his passing. Anthony, 89, of Little Egg Harbor passed away December 15, 2018, after a long illness. Antoinette, his adoring wife of 64 years, was by his side when he drifted off to be with the Lord. Born in Lodi, NJ, he moved to Washington Township in 1970 before settling in Little Egg Harbor in 1976. Anthony served proudly in the US Army during the Korean War.

Anthony was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Anna Daleo of Lodi, NJ., brother John Daleo and sister Mary DiBenedetto. He is survived by his loving family, wife Antoinette, son Anthony and wife Debra, daughter Annamarie Jones and husband Mike, daughter Fannie Panico and husband Steve, and son August and wife Deborah; sisters, Josephine Maglionico and Grace Ruffino. He will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Neil, David, Anthony, Michael, Augustino and Nicholas; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Anna, and many nieces and nephews.

Anthony lived his life to its fullest.  He was a man of conviction, character, love for his family, and had an incredible work ethic.  All who knew Anthony loved and respected him dearly!  At the age of 16 he had to leave school suddenly after his father died to help his family survive. He served his country with honor as an army veteran during the Korean War.  In 1954 he met the love of his life Antoinette and they soon married. You can tell a lot about a man by looking at his family.  The strong foundation he and his wife laid were the building blocks for all their children to follow, being an example on how you should treat others like you would want to be treated.

During Anthony’s life he built several successful companies that flourished. In the ‘70s he owned and operated a trucking company in Paterson, NJ.  In 1976 he moved his family from Washington Township down to a little sleepy town called Little Egg Harbor where he opened a restaurant called The Wharf 9. In 1986 he started a transportation company called Gold Star Limousine which is still being run today by two of his four children. With all his achievements, the most important were his love for his family, his Lord Jesus Christ, and his close relationships with his friends.
