We were shocked to hear of Doreen's passing. There were many special moments we shared with her, lots of laughs and sometimes tears. We were always there for one another. We were our own chosen family. Our condolences to "my Stephen". Rest in peace, Doreen.

My first meeting with Doreen was out in my yard after we moved to Harbor Bay. We had something in common. We had dogs, we were born in Jersey City and made our way from neighboring communities in Essex county near Union County where she and Stephen had been in Cranford.
Over the years I enjoyed our chats (over the back fence) so to speak. She was a warm, caring person who laughed easily and when I retired, I found a card by my back door.
The other thing we shared an interest in was jewelry making. I always wondered if she ever finished the fresh water pearl necklace she wanted to make. It was an interesting design. While we were foraging through my many boxes of supplies, Doreen shared that she had gone to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology)-very impressive, I thought. Well, I hope she finds Sophie in the special place on the bridge. Stephen will take care of little Scarlet and we will all check in on them.
