Met the Arnster about 40 years ago in in Lower Manhattan when he was working with an Executive Recruiting firm and it was the beginning of a great friendship. A Man who was a Boss, Mentor, A Great Friend who had your back and MARINE. Been with you thru the the good and bad times and will always remember the life lessons you instilled and of course knocking a few back at your beloved altar in your Freehold home and The Cabin. We may not have seen each other that often over the years but we always made sure to reach out at least 3 times a year on St Patricks Day, Your Birthday and the USMC Birthday.I ll miss you my Friend RIP Until we see each other on the other side. One final note MARINE
And when he gets to Heaven
St. Peter he will tell,
One more MARINE reporting sir,
I've served my time in Hell.

I first meet George on June 19th, 1985, when a 19 year old version of me pulled up to his house to take his daughter out on our first date. He played the part of protective father to a tee, stern look, gruff conversation & a handshake that tried to break my fingers. He's been a part of my life ever since that day. We always didn't see eye to eye, but we always did support and respect each other, and indeed love each other. He wasn't a perfect man, who is, but his heart was always in the right place. He was always willing to share a great story, mentor someone and help out any way he could. When his grandkids came along, you really saw how soft that old marine could be. They helped make him the perfected person he became. He would do a million little things just to make them smile, and there was truly no greater love than the love he showed our kids.
At ease marine, you did your duty on this earth with class & honor. As I promised you before you left, I will take care of Peg & "your little girl" & your grandkids. Feel free to check in on us from time to time. It isn't goodbye, it's we'll see you later. Your parents & friends have you back now on the other side & for now, we will carry you in our hearts every day till we meet again. It hurts not to see & hear you any more, but you are not in pain now, you suffered enough, God had mercy on you & needed you up in heaven now.
We love you George, well done good sir! Dismissed.

Grandpa George as I and my family called him, was a man larger then life. When I first met him 23 years ago, (of course on Cathy’s driveway at Cath & Peggy’s 1st Sunnydale yard sale) I’ll always remember him telling me how happy he was that he was going to be a grandfather. Then he broke into his George sarcastic joke routine under his Marine cap. Since that day, I’ve shared many happy times with him, as he and Peggy treated me and my family as their family. I will truly miss him and his bagels. BooYah! Semper Fi.

George William Arney, known to all as GEORGIE, was my big brother and we shared a bond that most people only dream of having. He was a wonderful brother, a rock when I was so sick, a man on whom you could rely, one who enjoyed life, loved my cooking (had to add this one), loved music, watching movies, being with his family, and loved life. Simply stated, Georgie could be called a GOOD MAN who loved God, and was so proud of being a MARINE! You will be sorely missed. Semper Fi, my sweet brother.
