Obituary of Thomas M Cranmer

Thomas M. Cranmer, age 80, passed away on Thursday January 25, 2018.  Tom was a lifelong resident of Tuckerton, NJ and attended Tuckerton grade school and high school. In earlier years, Tom worked construction for Archie Conklin’s excavation of Little Egg Harbor Twp. He worked in Mystic Island when it was in its early building stage. He went on to work for Little Egg Harbor Twp.  Municipal Works and finally retired in 2005 from the Ocean County Construction Office as a county Fire Inspector and Construction Code Inspector. He also had a small outboard business from his home. Tom was Chief and life member of the West Tuckerton Fire Co. and President of the Fireman’s Relief Association of Little Egg Harbor Twp. for many years. He was also a life member of the Ocean County Fire Chief’s Association, New Jersey State Fireman’s Association and a member of the Tuckerton Masonic Lodge.

Tom was predeceased by his parents Lester and Verna Cranmer and sister Joan Cranmer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Cranmer (nee Hanselmann), three children Carol Core and husband Chuck of Florida, Nancy Cranmer of Egg Harbor City., NJ and Douglas Cranmer and wife Lisa of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, nine grandchildren; Gary (Meredith) Smith, Kristy (David) Leo, Chuck Core, Fellicia (Juan) Ortiz, Joseph (Kathy) Zacek, Alex Hand, Andrew Cranmer, Austin Hand and Tyler Cranmer, five great-grandchildren and four nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday January 28, 2018 from 5-8pm and on Monday January 29, 2018 from 11am until his Funeral Service at 12pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Tuckerton, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Tuckerton Fire Department or the Tuckerton Masonic Lodge.
