Obituary of Thomas Singer

Thomas Singer, 73 of Little Egg Harbor NJ passed away on Sunday September 3, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he later moved to Staten Island in 1970. He then moved to Little Egg Harbor, NJ 40 years ago.

Thomas was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army.  He worked as a NYPD Police Officer for 21 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Bay Ridge VFW Post 7173 and enjoyed visiting the Redman Club in Tuckerton.

Thomas was very good at couponing and would travel to any store to get a good bargain. He loved being on his boat, fishing with his grandkids, getting his grandkids bagels in the morning and picking them up from school. He always attended his kids and grandkids sporting and school events. He loved to have his friends and family over for BBQ’s in his backyard.

He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Helen Singer, sister Dolores Damstrom and brothers Richard and Joseph Singer, and his grandson.

He is survived by his sister Jaqueline McCauley, loving sons Michael Singer and his wife Christine, Thomas Singer Jr and wife Jill, Keith Singer and wife Dawn; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor NJ 08087.
 
Visitation will continue on Friday from 6-9pm at Scalia Funeral Home 28 Eltingville blvd Staten Island NY 10312.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 10 a.m. at Holy Child Church. Interment to follow.
