I met Renee in 1960 first as the parent of one of the students in my class. Then we became colleagues working together at Hillcrest School - that relationship turned into friendship. We became good friends whose companionship was based on trust and respect. Over the years we had many wonderful conversations with regard to work, family, friends, travel, books etc.. It was Renee that I thanked for encouraging me to further my education beyond my Master's Degree and take courses in Continuing Education. It helped me not only learn new techniques to use in the classroom but also to increase my salary as well. I was forever grateful to Renee for her encouragement.
My husband and I visited with Renee and Harry at least twice a year - once at Mystic Shores and once when we both were in Florida for the winter. Both she and Harry were gracious hosts, wonderful visits, lively conversations, good memories, back and forth talk, gossip, politics and of course jokes - with Renee there were always jokes. Great sense of humor. Harry always commented on the fact that even if we hadn't seen each other for months she and I would pick up our conversation just where we left off the last time we were together. True friends.
A fine lady has left us.
Our sincere condolences to the family, she was truly proud of all of you.

Renee was an amazing woman: vital, bright and an interesting conversationalist. We both shared an intellectual curious purview of history; I will miss her. The world was a brighter place when she was alive .. may her memory be a blessing,
