Obituary of Thomas J McDonnell

Thomas J. McDonnell, 55 of Atlantic City, NJ passed away at home on Monday January 16, 2017. Thomas was born, grew up and spent a lot of his life living in Philadelphia, PA before moving to the South Jersey area in 1997. After attending the Archbishop Ryan High School in Philadelphia, PA he proudly served our nation in the United States Airforce and worked as a boat builder/mechanic for Viking Yacht in Bass River Twp. He owned his own cleaning business for many years and volunteered at the Atlantic City Rescue Mission soup kitchen in Atlantic City. Thomas also loved animals and children adored him. He was a very kind soul, was very strong and never complained. Thomas was predeceased by his parents William and Maryrose McDonnell. He is survived by his loving daughters Maryrose Fratz and her husband George of Lusby, MD and Hollyann McDonnell of Northport, NY, siblings Mark McDonnell and wife Jeanne of Millboro, DE, Barbara Loughlin and husband Joseph of South Hampton, PA, Frank McDonnell of Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Chris McDonnell and wife Kim of Linwood, NJ, Grandson Jayden and 8 nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday January 21, 2017 from 12:30pm until his Memorial Service at 2:30pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A burial of ashes will take place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA at a later date.
