Obituary of James F. Sexton

James F. Sexton 70 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Thursday March 24, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born in New York City and lived on Long Island before moving to Little Egg Harbor 12 years ago. James was a member of St. Theresa’s R.C. Church in Little Egg Harbor and proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Police Officer in New York City and after retiring, went to work at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City as a Surveillance Officer. He was a member of the NYPD Navy Assoc., Honor Society and Emerald Society and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed going to Atlantic City and spending time on the water fishing, but his favorite time was spending it with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Maureen Sexton; daughter, Keri Topf and husband Frank of Chesapeake, VA; son, Jim Sexton and his wife Patricia of Ashburn, Va, grandchildren Michael, Thomas, Aidan, Kathryn, Logan and Avery. He also has a brother Kevin Sexton and sister Eileen Duffy. He was predeceased by his sister Patricia Sparaco. Viewing hours will be held on Tuesday March 29, 2016 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm and Wednesday March 30 from 9:30 to 10:30am at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday at 11am at St. Theresa’s Church in Little Egg Harbor followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manahawkin.
