Obituary of Edward T. Wetzler
Edward T. Wetzler, 93, of Little Egg Harbor, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 13, 2016. Edward was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and lived in Clark, N.J. until moving to Little Egg Harbor 11 years ago. Before retiring, he had been an independent businessman in Clark,N.J.
He was a communicant of St, Theresa's Church. Edward was a World War II Army Veteran and fought in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. He loved flying and earned his pilot's license when he was in his 50s. Edward was a past member of the Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and was a Boy Scout leader of Troop 45.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Wetzler, his children Thomas Wetzler of San Antonio, TX, Theresa Hoffman of Colonia, N.J., Andrea Miller and her husband Kenneth of Lovettsville. VA; his grandchildern Nicole, Danielle, Bryan, Kenny and wife Sarah, Catherine and Kyle; his great-grandchild Raelynn; and his sister Joan Goodrich of Warwick, N.Y.
Edward was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Rose Wetzler, his son Lawrence Wetzler and 6 of his brothers and sisters.
Viewing hours will be held on Friday February 19, 2016 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Additional viewing will be held at St Theresa’s R.C. Church, Little Egg Harbor on Saturday February 20, 2016 from 10am until his Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
