Obituary of Arthur H Sterling

Arthur H. Sterling, 85 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away on Thursday October 15, 2015. Born in Mt. Pleasant, NY he lived in Brewster, NY and Spring Lake, NJ before moving to Little Egg Harbor 7 years ago. Arthur served in the US Navy from 1947 to 1950, the US Army from 1951 to 1954 and the US Airforce from 1960 to 1964. While in the service he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He was also a member of the American Legion Post#493 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #316. He worked for the United State Postal Service and was an avid NY Rangers Fan and NY Giants Fan and he enjoyed playing golf. Arthur was predeceased by his parents Arthur E. and Alice I. Sterling, sisters Lorraine Stampfle and Joyce Delduco and brother Donald Sterling. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years June Sterling and his brothers Robert Sterling of North Carolina, Kenneth Sterling of Putnam Lake, NY, Ronald Sterling of Brewster, NY and Dennis Sterling of Stormville, NY, sister Shirley Duke of Mt. Kisco, NY and many nieces and nephews. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday October 21, 2015 from 10:30am until Funeral Service at 12 noon at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Burial will follow at Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
