Obituary of Louis J Guardino

Louis J. Guardino, 86 of the Sunrise Bay Community in Little Egg Harbor passed away on Tuesday June 30, 2015 at Spring Village at Galloway Senior Living. He was born in New Rochelle, NY and lived in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Staten Island, NY before moving to Little Egg Harbor, NJ 13 years ago. He served in the US Army during the Korean War earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked for many years as an independent diamond setter in New York’s Diamond District, and was well known for his fine work. Louis was a talented craftsman and enjoyed building doll houses, restoring cars, working in his home and constructing and flying radio controlled planes. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Josephine Guardino, and loving children, daughters Donna Guardino and husband Dan Schreiner of Cleveland, OH and Loretta Guardino of Lyndhurst, NJ, son Thomas Guardino and wife Cheryl of Brick, sisters Pauline DiMari and Nancy Fiore and grandchildren Victoria Louise Daledda, Louis James Guardino, Thomas James Guardino Jr., Maria Guardino Schreiner and Vincent Michael Guardino. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank Guardino and August Guardino and sister Gussie Pittarelli. Visitation hours will be on Friday July 3, 2015 from 1pm until the Funeral Service at 4:45pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
