Obituary of William J. Keane

William J. Keane passed away at home in Manahawkin, NJ on February 24th. He was born on October 26, 1936 in Orange, NJ, son of William and Helen (Pavliak) Keane. Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and worked for many years in Human Resources. He then worked for the State of New Jersey, Division of Unemployment for many years as manager of the Toms River and Pleasantville offices. He was a 2nd Lt. in the US Army and the New Jersey National Guard. Bill’s life centered around his family and he enjoyed nothing more than a gathering with his wife, children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Bill is survived by his adoring wife of 51 years Margaret (Carelli) Keane, daughter Christina Scala and her husband Chris of Marlboro, NJ, his son Joseph Keane and his wife Lisanne of Foxboro, MA, his grandchildren Isabella, Alessia, Sydnie and Anthony, his brother Peter Keane and his wife Lynn of Bridgewater, NJ, his sister Kathy Bankhead and her husband Tom of Muscatine, IA, his sister Helen Creatura and her husband Lloyd of Clayton, NC, his sister Theresa Slanovits and her husband Jeff of Canton, GA, his sister Moira Keane of Senegal, Africa, and his brother Brian Keane and his wife Susan of Homestead, FL. He also leaves behind a wonderful brother-in-law, Thomas Carelli and his wife Toni and their children Natalie, Thomas and Nicholas. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 4PM – 8PM at Maxwell Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ. Funeral services will take place at St. Mary of the Pines Church, Manahawkin, NJ on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10:30AM.
