Obituary of Gilda F. Hochgertel

Gilda F. Hochgertel (nee Ercolani), age 88, of Riverside, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2014. Born in Camden, NJ, she grew up in south Philadelphia and lived in Camden prior to Riverside where she resided for 55 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed caring for her family. Gilda is predeceased by her husband Robert F. Hochgertel in 1998, her daughter Aida Walker, her two brothers; John and Reynolds Ercolani and her three sisters; Conchetta Odorisio, Gloria Schisler and Aida Ercolani. She is survived by her son Robert F. Hochgertel, Jr. and his wife Linda, and her two grandchildren; Alexis Aida and Ainsley Jaine, of Haddonfield, NJ. She is also survived by her daughter Jill Bowman and her husband William of Surf City, NJ and by her step-granddaughter Suzanne Sheets and step-great grandchildren Gesica and Will. A Memorial Gathering will take place on Monday, December 15, 2014, from 10:30am to 11am followed by a Memorial Service at Maxwell Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Gilda loved and lived for her children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital so that she may continue to help and care for other children.
