Obituary of James Edgar Tyus
James Edgar Tyus, 86 of Little Egg Harbor Twp., NJ passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday August 30, 2019. Born in Brownsville, TN, James spent time living in Detroit, MI and Newark, NJ before moving to Little Egg Harbor Twp. in 1974. James served our nation in the United States Army. He previously worked for Chrysler Corporation n Detroit, MI and as a grocery clerk for Pathmark in Pleasantville and Manahawkin before retiring after 36 years of service. James was a member of the Church of Christ and he loved wrestling and sports, but most of all he loved the New York METS and the Detroit Lions.
James was predeceased by his parents Doc Sr. and Mamie Tyus, son Keith Gerard Tyus, brother Doc Jr. and sister Evelyn Harrison.
He is survived by his loving wife Roslyn of 57 years, daughters Karen and Kim Tyus, grandchildren Jennifer, Keith Anthony and DeVante’ and great-grandchildren Byonce’, Gabriella, Oliver and Nayeli.
A private family burial will take place at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery 350 Provinceline Rd Wrightstown, NJ.
